A Brand New Start
03:52
|
|||
The truth is back in style
The counter culture sways
Words alone don't mean a thing
An unfamiliar face
that we thought disappeared
Now our hearts will know no fear
And I know it's so damned hard
to be understood
I can't walk, I can't walk away from you.
Awake with gratitude
Open up your heart
Every days a brand new start
But hope alone won't win
Without steps to improve
Realign your attitude

Vampire
03:29
|
|||
I can be your cloud on a sunny day
A broken umbrella when it starts to rain
A comfortable lie when you need the truth
I can realign your attitude
And they call me a vampire / I'm bleeding all my friends again
Can I get a ride to the liquor store
Get a plastic bottle whiskey from the bottom shelf
Can you cover me this time I'm a little short
What's yours is yours and yours is mine
What's yours is yours and yours is mine
Hey there guess what I can't believe
What it is you say you see in me
When the mourning comes
Don't forget about me
Guitar!

Hard to Say
02:46
|
|
||
I was sitting on a beach
Hoping for a hand that I could reach
Then I saw you there / And girl you are beyond compare
I was hoping you could slum for a bit
With a dude with no future but he will not quit
Noone compare / To you my dear
Though I find it hard to say
Wanna show you every day
No there is nobody else
Who lets me be, be myself
Like you do
Everybody wants to be like you
Watch those shape shifters cop your attitude
You can keep me on track / And girl I won't hold you back
You can be the string and I'll be the kite
Keep me grounded and I'll keep it light
Noone compares / To you my dear

Front Porch Light
04:27
|
|
||
He came for the sinners plates
To give them substinance
Still they blame the other tribe
For the hate that lives in their hearts
You can find the battle line
It's a war you cannot win
But still they wage
Light your lamps let em shine
so the others see
There homes are built on the waves
Blame it on the sinners with the sawdust in your eyes
Blame it on the riverbed when your basin has run dry
If my love was a satellite I would revolve around you
If your heart was a front porch light I would be a moth for you
She came to the village well
Before the sun had come up
Felt she was not good enough
But he had filled her cup
Imagine what we could
If we lived without the fear
That runs our days
Light your lamps let em shine
so the others see
there homes are built on the waves

Modern Day Pharisees
03:08
|
|||
From behind your computer screen
You got it all anonymity
Yea yer gonna change the world one post at a time
Simple answers and a victim crutch
Making sure you never have to think too much
It's not violence if it's morality
Modern day Pharisees
Tribalist mentality
Performative morality
Modern day Pharisees
Let me tell you all about their false sincerity
Telling me that I have to atone
The original sin of my skin tone
Self flaggelate for lack of melanin
Useful idiots and NPCs
Resentment driven morality
Divide and conquers never been so easy

Nature abhors a vacuum and when someone claims no belief in God, you can guarantee something took his place. It could be the hedonistic pursuit of instant gratification, a prison constructed of their own flesh with desire as the slave master. For others it;s the government, omnipotent and all knowing to the conspiracy theorist, while others attend the church of political tribalism. That's the difference between Shakespeare and Stalin, Billy could murder a dozen heretics... While ideology fills mass graves.
My TV talks to me
Modern psychiatry
My hearts worst enemy
My TV talks to me
In the early 1960s Marx-driven intellectuals in academia had a tough choice to make, admit defeat or change the target. The horrible reality of their supposed utopias were laid bare for the world to see, signage posted on streets reminding parents not to eat their children. But worse than the aforementioned was the inability to attract American workers to the movement, their stubborn refusal to define themselves by class alone. With hubris, defeat can never be admitted, so academia shifted the dialectic from class to race, gender... hell anything.
This torch will
Consume you
If you don't learn to let go

Shadow Self
02:58
|
|||
I know you wish that I'll just go away
That's too bad
For you
I know you wish that I'd just fade away
Well tough luck
To you
I made peace with my shadow self today
I made peace with my ego
I wrap my hands around your neck
To take away that final breath from you
I ask if you have any last words
All you could get out was that it hurt

Alibi
01:41
|
|||
I'm not ready for the test you give
Everybody telling me how to live
I don't have anymore fucks to give
Everybody just fuck off
Your social scene
I'd prefer lobotomy
All you uniform thought police
Everybody just fuck off
If it's all in my head
I'd rather be dead
Make sure that your bags are packed
Get that knife out of my back
I've evolved and on the attack
Fortify my heart
Let's simplify
Straighten out my alibi
Throw a party when you die
Dancing on your grave

Taste for Blood
02:39
|
|||
What I gotta do to get on your magazine
Another bug eyed blood bath celebrity
The body counts up and the media celebrates
It's all part of our manifest destiny
And the wolves lap it up...
Got a taste for blood
And I can't get enough
What we gonna do about this noise?
Pick up your pitchforks right by the flame
Better watch what you hear watch what you say
Don't want the men in black out to get you
It's just another modern moral panic

Out Come the Knives
05:01
|
|||
I thought that I had seen a ghost
Ideology infection has found a new host
I can't look you in the eyes anymore
I thought I saw you in a breadline
Stomach churning cobweb building on the skylines
I can't look you in the eyes anymore
Unsheathe your eyes out come the knives
Compassion breeds Oedipus sight
We used to stay up all night
No idea was out of bounds no idea was out of line
I can't look you in the eyes anymore
Acting as if you have authority
I won't sell my soul, you can have conformity
I won't look you in the eyes anymore
Unsheathe your eyes out come the knives
Compassion breeds Oedipus sight
Yea I know this ride will come to an end
I can't complain
Through the madness sadness sorrow and the pain
I can't complain

Off the Handle
04:21
|
|||
It's on the tip of my tongue
It's a ripcord but I cannot find the handle
Just like Sisyphus I'm struggling
But I'll keep pushing that bolder up that hill
Yea you think you got me under your thumb
Just another cornered mouse to put your glass on
There I go, Flying off the handle
I'm not rude you're just so very dumb
So you think you are king of the ocean
Got a little school of fish to follow you
Oh no there's nothing to rely on
Except you don't know when to shut your mouth
Oh yea, I think you're so cool
Talkin bout a new wave
All I hear is old news
